Danish (DAH-n'sh) Hamid is an international lawyer who focuses on internal investigations, regulatory compliance, and cross-border business transactions. He is experienced in high-risk M&A transactions and complex international sales, licensing, outsourcing, distribution, joint venture and foreign government and military procurement contracts. Danish counsels clients on a variety of regulatory matters. He has had over 20 years' experience with the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-bribery laws. His practice also covers anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing compliance, data privacy, US economic sanctions and reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

Danish has led numerous internal investigations and corporate matters in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. He regularly advises C-level managers, company boards, audit committees, outside auditors and underwriters on investigations and related government disclosure strategies. He also counsels clients on designing and implementing multinational compliance programs and is regularly called upon to support regulatory due diligence efforts in the context of M&A transactions, private placements, capital market deals (IPO's and ICO's), joint ventures, corporate charitable contributions, and reseller, vendor and channel partner relationships.

Danish is the author of the FCPA chapter of the third edition of Corruption and Misuse of Public Office, a leading treatise published by Oxford University Press. This publication provides an overview of the FCPA's anti-bribery and accounting provisions, a discussion on effective anti-corruption compliance programs, investigations, and enforcement, a comparison between the FCPA and the UK Bribery Act, and insights into private-sector anti-bribery efforts, including in the context of the US Travel Act.
