DLA Piper advises SEMCAP Food & Nutrition on strategic investment in Good Culture
DLA Piper advised SEMCAP Food & Nutrition (SEMCAP) on its US$55 million investment in cultured dairy brand Good Culture.
The investment strengthens SEMCAP’s presence in the dairy market, positioning it to work alongside L Catterton, a private equity firm that recently acquired a majority stake in Good Culture. The two firms will work together to support Good Culture’s growth, product development, and expanded distribution across North America.
“DLA Piper’s support and guidance on this investment was invaluable,” said John Haugen, Managing Partner of SEMCAP Food & Nutrition. “Good Culture aligns with our focus on investing behind transformative food brands that support modern health and well-being for today’s consumers.”
“We were pleased to advise SEMCAP on its investment in Good Culture, a leading cultured dairy brand with strong growth momentum. The transaction highlights sustained investor interest in high quality, nutrition focused food products,” said Shaked Hoter, Partner at DLA Piper.
Hoter (Washington, DC) co-led the deal with Partner Scott Kapp (Chicago).
