With over a decade of experience, Alistair advises multinational and domestic clients on all aspects of antitrust and competition law.

Alistair advises on merger control, foreign direct investment and national security assessments, including devising and implementing cross-border filing strategies. He regularly represents clients before the Competition and Markets Authority, the Cabinet Office and the European Commission, as well as authorities in numerous other jurisdictions worldwide. Alistair has particular expertise in relation to the regulatory aspects of complex international corporate reorganisations.

Alistair also maintains an active behavioural and contentious practice, advising on commercial strategies, compliance programmes and dawn raid preparedness. He acts on antitrust investigations, related appeals and litigation, market investigations and sector enquiries.

Alistair’s client base spans leading corporates across a broad range of sectors, with particular experience in the life sciences, sports and media sectors.

  • S&P Global on its strategic acquisition of ORBCOMM's AIS data services business.

  • A confidential client in a follow-on damages mediation relating to a CMA infringement decision.
  • Merck KGaA on its appeal of the CMA's paroxetine "pay for delay" decision, which imposed fines totalling GBP45m, as well as the related reference to the European Court of Justice.
