DLA Piper welcomes Preeya Noronha Pinto to the Healthcare Regulatory practice

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome Preeya Noronha Pinto as a partner in the Healthcare Regulatory practice. She will be based in the Washington, DC office.

Pinto represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, clinical laboratories, and other manufacturers, healthcare suppliers, and providers in policy and regulatory matters. This includes assisting clients with designing and executing reimbursement strategies for drugs, medical devices, and biotech products, as well as navigating and anticipating the complexities of coverage, coding, and payment within the life sciences and healthcare industry.

Prior to her time in private practice, Pinto served as the acting general counsel for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where she supervised more than 500 attorneys, providing legal advice to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Pinto also served as a trial attorney for the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

“Between her extensive experience advising clients on coverage, coding, and payment matters, her strong background in the federal government, and deep knowledge and connections within CMS and FDA, Preeya will bring immediate value to our team and across the life sciences and healthcare sectors,” said Kristi Kung, Chair of the Healthcare Regulatory practice.

“We are excited to welcome Preeya to the regulatory team. Her deep experience will be greatly beneficial to our clients as they navigate complex legal, regulatory, and policy matters related to prescription drug pricing and reimbursement,” said Richard Hans, Leader of the Regulatory and Government Affairs practice.

“Preeya is an incredibly talented attorney with an impressive background, particularly in the life sciences reimbursement area. We are excited to welcome her to the DC office where she will expand regulatory support for our healthcare and life sciences client base,” said William Minor, Managing Partner of the Washington, DC office.
