David is a Partner in our Corporate team in Sydney. He is a leading M&A lawyer having acted on some of Australia's largest merger transactions in recent times. He advises major corporate organisations as well as government on proposed trade sales, purchases and initial public offerings.

His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate and securities law, private company acquisitions, public company takeovers and mergers, Australian Securities Exchange rules and initial public offerings, capital raisings, securities issues and corporate governance and compliance.

  • Seven West Media (ASX:SWM) on its acquisition of Southern Cross Media Group Limited's (ASX: SXL) television licenses and associated assets operating in Tasmania, Darwin, Spencer Gulf, Broken Hill, Mt Isa and Remote, Central and Eastern Australia.
  • STRABAG SE, an Austrian stock exchange construction group, on its AUD200m acquisition of Georgiou Group.
  • An ASX‐listed alternative asset manager on a AUD3bn merger with Australia's largest manager of large format retail centres.*
  • An ASX listed mining equipment rental business on a number of its acquisitions of mining services companies and associated equity capital raisings to fund it.*
  • Australia’s largest ASX listed provider of early childhood education and care in its acquisition of a provider of in-home childcare and NDIS services.*
  • A corporate advisory group, and a stockbroking service as joint lead managers and underwriters to an ASX-listed Australian industrial service and real estate business on their AUD90m capital raising.*
  • Acting for the founder of a data centre business, on a partial sale of his interest in the business.*
  • An Australian industry superannuation fund in relation to its consortium with an integrated asset manager to acquire an ASX-listed specialist fibre and network solutions provider.*
  • A media and entertainment company on:
    - the demerger of its NZ media business, and its listing on ASX and NZX.*
    - its AUD307m acquisition of an Australian regional radio network.*
  • An education services holding company on its acquisition of an Australian international private, for-profit university and vocational registered training organisation for approximately AUD1bn.*
