DLA Piper further expands its Tax practice with addition of Bernhard von Thaden

DLA Piper is expanding its tax offerings with the arrival of Bernhard von Thaden, who rejoins the firm as a Principal Economist in the Tax practice. He will be based in the Los Angeles office.

Von Thaden’s work spans media and technology, life sciences, automotive, consumer products, and transportation sectors. He has an extensive background in transfer pricing, intangible valuation, supply chain, and tax planning for public and private multinational companies.

In addition, von Thaden’s experience and track record with transfer pricing in the context of global supply chain planning supports the firm’s tariff mitigation offerings.

“Bernhard is an asset to clients facing complex cross-border tax and supply chain challenges,” said Alison Maxwell, US Chair of the firm’s Tax practice. “His ability to connect tax, valuation, and technology considerations further strengthen the guidance our team provides across key industry sectors.”

Von Thaden previously served in the same role at the firm from 2006 to 2011.
