Julian Bajada is a Senior Associate within the Corporate M&A practice group at DLA Piper’s London office. Julian was also seconded to the firm's Milan (2023) and Paris (2025) offices. Julian was also elected as the Chair of DLA Piper's Corporate Shadow Management Committee in 2025.

Julian has advised clients across a range of sectors, with a focus on the Energy and Natural Resources, Infrastructure, Technology and Sports, Media and Entertainment sectors. Julian has advised clients such as CVC DIF, Shell, OQT Trading, Valeura Energy, GE Vernova (formerly General Electric), Aena Internacional, Equitix, Amber Infrastructure, and Dentsu.

In 2023, Julian was awarded as the firm's first recipient of the Goffredo Guerra Exceptional Corporate Secondment Programme. The secondment was awarded to recognise a Corporate associate who has consistently demonstrated commitment to excellence, a strong performance track record, and has future leadership potential.

EXPERIENCE

  • Shell on its acquisition of Daystar Power, Shell’s first power sector acquisition in Africa. Daystar Power operates in West Africa and provides solar power and battery solutions.
  • Shell on its acquisition of Nature Energy Biogas A/S, a Denmark based producer of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) from waste with 14 operating plants and a pipeline of around 30 new plants in Europe and North America (USD2 billion).
  • Valeura Energy Inc (TSX listed) on its acquisition of KrisEnergy International (Thailand) Holdings Ltd and the agreement to acquire the Thailand upstream oil producing portfolio of Mubadala Energy.
  • CVC DIF, the digital infrastructure arm of CVC, and Jersey Telecom, on their proposed acquisition of Manx Telecom, the Isle of Man's leading telecoms provider, from Basalt Infrastructure Partners.
  • General Electric Company on various international corporate reorganisations and disposals, including the spin-off of GE’s energy, healthcare and aviation businesses.
  • Digital 9 Infrastructure plc on the acquisition of two data centre firms, leading Finnish data centre and cloud services provider Ficolo Oy and London based GAData Holdings Limited, trading as Volta Data Centres.
  • Equitix, a leading global investor, developer and long-term fund manager of core infrastructure assets with over USD12 billion in AUM, on its partial divestment from its investment in the Asolo Hospitals Service Project to Marubeni.
  • Nampak International Limited on its disposal of Bevcan Nigeria (a leading can-ends manufacturer in Nigeria forming part of the Nampak Limited group, a multi-national corporation listed on the JSE) to Alucan Investments Ltd.
  • Dentsu Group Inc., the global marketing and advertising network, on its proposed strategic acquisition of TAG (the global omnichannel marketing production company) from Advent International, covering 29 jurisdictions.
  • Torstone Technology: advising the co-founder and other key management selling shareholders of Torstone Technology Limited on the sale of Torstone, a UK-headquartered leading global SaaS platform for post-trade securities and derivatives processing technology, to FIS.
  • Linden Capital LLC on its strategic bolt-acquisition of the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese healthcare and wellness business segments of Lifestyles Europe SAS (owned by Investindustrial).
  • Eagle Football on its acquisition of French Ligue 1 team, Olympique Lyonnaise Groupe and the consolidation of Eagle Football’s interests in top-tier football teams in England, Brazil, and Belgium.
  • EveryMatrix, a leading iGaming B2B software, solutions, content and service provider, on its acquisition of FSB Technology, a leading global full turnkey and specialist sportsbook technology provider.
  • Battery Ventures, a global, technology-focused investment firm, on its Series C investment in Plain, a SaaS customer support platform with a presence in the UK, Germany, Romania, Spain and the US.
  • Sharp Alpha Advisors, a venture capital firm focused on sports, media and entertainment, on its Seed investment in Poolhouse, a start-up founded by the creators of Top Golf.
