Lael Bellamy

Lael has over 20 years of experience in privacy and technology law, compliance and data governance. She has extensive experience developing privacy policies and procedures as well as establishing and managing privacy programs, incident response teams and social media compliance for small and large multinational companies.

Lael previously was the Chief Privacy Officer of The Weather Company, where she addressed privacy and data use throughout the organization, including working with stakeholders to embed privacy into the design of new products and services and overseeing the company’s privacy program with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, Lael spent over two decades working in-house for various companies in the financial services, data, retail, publishing and ad tech industries, advising them on a wide range of privacy and technology matters, from overseeing compliance with state and federal regulations to negotiating data acquisition, technology and consulting agreements.

A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Lael is a frequent speaker on privacy and technology issues.
