Providing financial services guidance with a global view
Success in the financial sector means managing growth and change on an increasingly global scale. Regulatory interventions and policy changes can create significant risks – and opportunities – for financial services institutions. We can guide you on regulatory, risk management and compliance issues wherever you need us.
Keeping pace with regulatory change across the world's financial markets can be a full-time job. Your business must respond to developments in wholesale markets, funds, consumer protection, digital assets, payments, data and cybersecurity, AI, and sustainability, often all at once. At the same time, regulatory intervention, investigations, and enforcement actions are increasingly cross-border, requiring coordinated advice across multiple jurisdictions.
Our team of financial regulatory lawyers helps global financial institutions and companies offering financial products navigate complex legal and regulatory challenges. As a leading global financial services law practice, we advise on high-value regulatory, risk management, governance, and compliance matters across the world's major financial centers.
We advise on US federal and state regimes, EU legislation and UK divergence, and the standards set by the Financial Stability Board, the Bank for International Settlements, IOSCO, and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
We help you:
assess regulatory issues affecting the viability of your institution and your investments
build and test AML, sanctions, and consumer compliance programs
meet board governance and senior executive responsibility requirements
obtain licenses, charters, and approvals for new products and market entry
manage regulatory processes for group reorganizations, asset transfers, and recovery and resolution
respond to examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions
Our team includes former regulators, government officials, and in-house counsel, giving you insight into how regulators think and what they expect. We also regularly advise regulatory bodies and financial market infrastructure providers, including Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority on the world's first virtual assets-specific regulatory framework.
