DLA Piper's Sandra Wallace named among Britain's most influential Black people for sixth year running

For the sixth consecutive year, DLA Piper's Joint Managing Director, UK and Europe, Sandra Wallace has been listed as one most influential Black people in Britain, in the Powerlist 2023.

Now in its 16th year, the annual list celebrates people of African, African Caribbean and African American heritage. Over the years it has grown to become the definitive and most prestigious recognition of Black achievement within the UK, compiled by an independent judging panel of influential figures, who recognise individuals who have changed lives or who are striving to make a difference.

Commenting, Sandra said: "I am honoured to be included in this prestigious list of talented and influential people. It plays an important part in highlighting the achievements and work of Black people in the UK and to put forward role models for this and future generations. At our firm we are fully committed to encouraging social mobility, diversity and inclusion and will continue to drive progress in these areas both internally and in the wider legal profession."

Sandra was included in the 2022 New Year Honours List with the award of a CBE.  This honour was awarded for services to law and social mobility, following a legal career spanning nearly thirty years including active roles in the advancement of socio-economic diversity including interim co-chair of the UK Government’s Social Mobility Commission, the City of London’s co-chair of the socio-economic diversity taskforce and Pro-Chancellor for Social Mobility from her alma mater, Wolverhampton University. This month also saw her presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Professional Services Award at the London Chamber of Commerce Black Excellence Awards 2022.
