DLA Piper’s Brooke Kim to co-chair firm’s Leadership Alliance for Women

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that partner Brooke Kim has been named co-chair of the firm’s Leadership Alliance for Women (LAW), a program aimed at retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers at the firm.

The firm's longest-standing resource group, LAW was launched in 2006 as an initiative to help develop women lawyers. LAW fosters internal networking and empowers women lawyers by enhancing leadership skills and creating business development opportunities. It reflects the firm's commitment to developing its people, fostering mentorship and providing unique opportunities for business generation and leadership.

“On behalf of LAW, we are excited to welcome Brooke Kim as co-chair,” said Cara Edwards, co-chair of LAW and managing partner of DLA Piper’s New York office. “Brooke is an exemplary member of LAW and embodies LAW’s strategic priorities of fostering an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere through emphasis on sponsorship and leadership.”

Brooke is based in the firm’s San Diego office and dedicates her practice to the strategic litigation, trial and resolution of mass tort actions and coordinated product liability litigations. She advises and defends global pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer goods companies. Her roles range from service as national counsel in multidistrict litigations, California counsel in California Judicial Counsel Coordinated Proceedings (JCCPs), direct handling of individual claims and specialized handling of specific functions, such as expert development, in mass tort cases.

Among her accomplishments, Brooke was recognized by The Legal 500 as a Next Generation Lawyer and as a Rising Star by Law360. In 2019, she was selected for the DLA Piper 2019-2020 Women’s Emerging Leaders class, a 15-month leadership program attended by aspiring women leaders at the firm.
