DLA Piper advises Generali Real Estate on the EUR330 million refinancing of the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid at Centro Canalejas
DLA Piper has advised Generali Real Estate on the EUR330 million refinancing of the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid at Centro Canalejas, a landmark single-asset hospitality financing transaction in the Spanish market.
The financing, granted to Mohari Hospitality, a global investment firm focused on the ownership and long-term development of luxury hospitality assets, was arranged by Generali Real Estate SGR through its commercial real estate debt platform, following Mohari Hospitality’s transition to sole ownership of the asset.
The transaction relates to one of Madrid’s most iconic luxury hospitality assets, located within the Centro Canalejas complex, and reflects the continued strength of the Spanish prime hospitality market and the growing role of alternative lenders in high-profile real estate financing transactions.
The DLA Piper Finance team was composed of members of the Spanish and Italian offices, including César Herrero, Rocío Smith, Pablo González, Ángel Ansorena and Manuel de la Morena in Madrid, and Giuseppe Mele and Ivano Sproviero in Milan.
The Real Estate team was composed of José María Oliva, Erlis Spahia and Elena Teixeira, while Tax advice was provided by Miguel Baz and Alberto Lobato and hospitality advice by Almudena Comin Fernández-Cuesta, counsel of Corporate and head of DLA Piper’s Hospitality group in Spain.
