Emma focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on securities litigation, and corporate governance disputes. She has a wide range of experience in litigating securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative suits, and M&A litigation matters at the state and federal levels. She has also represented clients in internal and government investigations.
Emma has assisted corporations, individual executives, and corporate boards with director and officer indemnification and insurance matters in connection with such litigation as well as before any litigation is filed.
Before joining DLA Piper, Emma started her legal career at the highly ranked securities litigation and corporate governance practice group of a law firm in New York City. While earning her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, Emma served as an executive editor of the Duke Law Journal.
