The Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill was first published in May last year and proposed some significant changes to both the planning and compulsory purchase systems. Since then we have had three Prime Ministers, four Secretaries of State and proposals to amend the NPPF.

Despite the political turmoil, the Bill has continued its passage through Parliament, so where does that leave us, and what is the future for the Bill and for the planning system? Are we about to see fundamental reform or yet more tinkering, and if the reforms are significant will they help or hinder delivery?

Our UK Head of Planning, Trevor Ivory, will be discussing these issues with and putting your questions to former Housing and Planning Minister and Chief of Staff to Theresa May, Lord Barwell, on Wednesday, 15 February 2023.

The event will be held in person in our Birmingham office, with an opportunity to network after the event over drinks. If you are unable to attend in-person, you can register to join the event remotely via the live broadcast.
