Veronica Monteiro named a 2021 Lexpert Rising Star

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that Veronica Monteiro from the firm's Edmonton ‎office has been named a ‎‎2021 Lexpert Rising Star.‎

Chosen by an ‎advisory board comprised of distinguished leaders in the legal community, Lexpert Rising ‎Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 ‎celebrates outstanding young lawyers in Canada who have ‎demonstrated professional ‎excellence, effective leadership, and commitment to their communities.‎

Veronica is the Managing Partner of the Edmonton office and a valuable member of our Corporate, Real ‎Estate ‎and Pension and Benefits Groups. ‎Veronica provides strategic legal and business advice to‎ key firm clients and has played a significant role in numerous complex matters, including secured lending transactions, multi-jurisdictional corporate reorganizations and multi-million ‎dollar mergers and acquisitions. Veronica became the Edmonton OMP in 2020 at the peak of ‎the pandemic. She has been instrumental in assisting staff and lawyers with navigating challenges related ‎to COVID-19 and implementing firm protocols in response to the pandemic.

Outside of the firm, Veronica has contributed significantly to the legal profession and professional development initiatives. In September, she became the Vice-President of the National CBA Pensions and Benefits ‎Section after having served as its Secretary and Outreach Officer and on the Board for over 10 years. ‎Previously, she was the Co-Chair of the ‎CBA Pensions and Benefits ‎Section (Alberta Branch) from 2011 to ‎‎2019. ‎
