DLA Piper ranked top-20 in Stonewalls UK Workplace Equality Index

DLA Piper has been ranked 17th in Stonewall’s UK Workplace Equality Index, illustrating the firm’s commitment to advancing LGBT+ and all other aspects of diversity and inclusion and the deep-rooted responsibility it holds towards bolstering LGBT+ work and initiatives.

The Index is a benchmark for employers to measure progress on lesbian, gay, bi, and trans inclusion in the workplace. To secure the position the firm demonstrated its work in eight areas of employment policy and practice as well as completing an anonymous colleague survey about experiences of diversity and inclusion in the firm. Along with its ranking in the top-100, DLA Piper received the Gold Employer Award, while Iris, the firm’s People Network for those that identify as LGBT+ and their allies, was recognised as a Highly Commended Network Group.

Jon Hayes, Global Co-Chair and Senior Partner DLA Piper, said: “I am proud of the inclusive environment we have, and firmly believe that promoting inclusion and diversity is of equal moral and strategic importance to DLA Piper and our people just as it is to many of our clients. It is critical that everyone in our firm should feel that they belong and can thrive. Featuring prominently on the Stonewall UK Workplace Equality Index is great recognition for the work DLA Piper does and the importance of inclusion, equality and representation in everything we do. This achievement is down to the work and initiatives that our People Network. Iris, and our excellent DEI team have implemented; and equally importantly also reflects the inclusive culture that our colleagues are creating in daily working life."
