About

Kristian Skovsgaard specialises in construction law and works in our Real Estate practice group advising Danish and international clients on all aspects of building and construction projects.

His advisory services span calls for tenders, contract negotiation and completion of construction works, including the application and adjustment of the Danish General Conditions applied in the Danish construction industry, in particular AB 18, ABT 18 and ABR 18. He holds special expertise in preparing turnkey contracts as well as in handling complex issues, including changes, obstacles, delays and defects.

Kristian has a wealth of experience in dispute resolution and regularly conducts proceedings before the Danish courts and arbitration tribunals, including the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board, and is a certified arbitrator.

Kristian is editor of the construction-law section in the Danish construction journal Tidsskrift for Bolig- og Byggeret (T:BB) and is a part-time lecturer in Construction Law at Aarhus University. In 2016, he was awarded a PhD from Aarhus University for a thesis on constructors’ extra works.

Kristian was previously a part of the defence in the historic impeachment trial against Inger Støjberg, former Danish minister for immigration and integration.
