Nouria is an Associate in the Litigation & Regulatory team based in the Dubai office, focusing on commercial and construction dispute resolution.

Nouria has acted on behalf of both international and domestic clients in a range of industries including energy, crypto, construction, healthcare and insurance.

Nouria’s clients include multinational companies, government entities and family conglomerates. She has experience across a variety of dispute forums including litigation, arbitration and adjudication.

EXPERIENCE

Commercial Arbitration

  • Acting for a state-owned energy company in the GCC in connection with indexation disputes arising from the operation and maintenance of power and water projects. Representing the client in multiple arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules, with the aggregate value of the disputes totalling c. USD50m.
  • Acting for an UHNWI in a highly confidential and complex crypto dispute involving a DIAC arbitration and injunctive proceedings before the DIFC Courts, the value of the dispute being c. USD350m.

Commercial Litigation

  • Acting for various clients pursuing injunctive proceedings in the DIFC Courts.
  • Representing a Dubai based provider of third-party administration services in its claim against a healthcare insurance provider, for breach of a Third-Party Administrator Agreement governed by UAE law.*

Construction & Energy

  • Acting for a major contractor in an ICC arbitration relating to a large-scale construction project in Slovakia. The dispute concerned claims for adjustments to the contract price and additional payment valued at c. USD100m.
  • Acting for the main contractor in DIAC arbitration proceedings pertaining to the development of a luxury five-star hotel on the Palm Jumeirah, the value of the dispute being c. USD250m.
  • Acting for a contractor in DIAC arbitration proceedings pertaining to the Dubai Expo 2020 project, the value of the dispute being c. AED130m.
  • Acting for a mining company based in KSA in ICC arbitration proceedings involving multiple claims and counterclaims, with the largest valued at c. USD263m, relating to the construction of a Sulphuric Acid and Power Plant.*
  • Acting for a mining company based in KSA in dispute adjudication board proceedings involving multiple claims and counterclaims, with a cumulative value over c. USD106m, relating to the construction of a Di-Ammonium Phosphate and NPK facility.*

CCI/Sanctions

  • Performing an internal review of export trade controls and dual-use goods procedures for a global consumer goods company.
