DLA Piper Latin America launches associate recruitment program to bolster Latin America client service
DLA Piper Latin America has launched a robust recruitment program that will solidify the firm’s commitment to the region and improve its ability to deliver consistent, reliable and top-notch service to clients.
“The establishment of an institutional International Associate Program is part of a series of actions aligned with our long-term institutional view of DLA Piper’s Latin America practice in the United States,” said Richard Chesley, co-US managing partner of DLA Piper. “We are steadfastly dedicated to the success of our Latin America practice and those individuals that will become our next International Associates, and we believe this program is an important component of our aim to become the leading global law firm with operations and services throughout the Latin America region.”
DLA Piper’s International Associate Program is designed to maintain a team of highly sophisticated, multilingual professionals in the United States who serve the firm’s expanding client base with legal needs in Latin America. The International Associates will be involved in complex, cross-border matters spanning a wide variety of sectors. With an increased focus on the continued expansion of global and Latin American corporations, the program aims to support clients’ legal objectives across several practice areas.
“This program will build on the successes we have had to date recruiting international associates as part of our overall staffing strategy, and can play an important role as the firm continues to build top-tier practices in the United States,” said DLA Piper partner Greg Smith.
“The firm’s dedication to this program is yet another example of the confidence that we have placed in the region, as well as our commitment to providing Latin American men and women with key development opportunities,” said DLA Piper partner Raul Farias.
The International Associate Program builds on the growth of DLA Piper’s Latin America practice in the United States, as well as the firm’s steady expansion in the region over the last five years. This has included opening offices in Santiago, Lima, Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Bogota, as well as adding to a large team in Brazil in cooperation with Campos Mello Advogados.
