About

Julien Labory-Alicq is a principal associate specialized in banking, finance, and energy, with particular involvement in project finance related to the energy and natural resources sectors. His practice also includes mergers and acquisitions of energy companies and the development of energy projects, combining strategic sector insight with strong transactional expertise.

He advises financial institutions, multilateral banks, investment funds and corporations on the structuring of complex transactions, including project finance, structured and secured finance, cross-border syndicated loans, corporate finance, as well as capital markets issuances.

Julien has developed his career at leading international law firms in Europe and has direct experience within the banking sector, including a secondment to the derivatives desk of a prominent French investment bank. He also has significant experience in the Peruvian market, which enables him to combine a thorough understanding of local regulatory and market dynamics with the expectations and standards of international investors.

  • Advised a European development bank on a contingent financing of up to EUR 200 million granted to the Republic of Peru, for climate resilience and natural disaster risk management
  • Advised a Peruvian energy distribution company on a US$320 million medium-term loan facility
  • Advised an international investment fund in the acquisition of two Peruvian solar plants and the US$120 million refinancing of existing debt
  • Advised a Peruvian syndicate of banks in a US$100 million medium-term financing in favor of a Peruvian airport services company
  • Advised a development bank on a US$76 million Peruvian law loan facility for the construction and operation of more than 200 km of high-voltage transmission lines and associated substations
  • Advised a Peruvian bank on a US$70 million medium-term financing granted to a maritime and port services company
  • Advised a Peruvian bank on a US$60 million medium-term financing in favor of agribusiness companies
  • Advised an international renewable energy company on the acquisition of Peruvian wind and solar projects totaling more than 500MW of anticipated electricity generation
  • Advised an international solar energy company on the sale of a solar plant with a contemplated installed capacity of 200 MWac and the related transmission line
