EXPERIENCE

  • Acting for a UK bank in the defence of high-profile proceedings brought by a large group of claimants and concerning alleged misrepresentations (both negligent and fraudulent) relating to the charging of break costs following the termination of fixed rate loans.
  • Advising a state-owned shipbuilding company, in relation to a EUR120m cross-border contractual dispute relating to sub-contracted elements of ship design and supply. We have advised the client on its rights against the sub-contractor (including potential contractual and tortious claims) and against the ultimate buyers.
  • Acting for a cleantech solutions firm in defending a cross-border breach of contract claim, filed in the English High Court, valued at c. USD8.5m and on the pursuit of a counterclaim for misrepresentation and recission valued at a sum in excess of c. USD2.5m.
  • Advising a global mobile software development and software solutions company, on a breach of contract dispute, valued in excess of GBP1m, with its key supplier of integrated data and IT services, relating to the business critical interoperation of the parties' respective software solutions.
  • Pursuing a high-profile subrogated recovery action, valued in excess of GBP7.6m, against a firm of accountants, arising out of deficiencies in their audit practices which resulted in a substantial and widespread fraud going unnoticed for a number of years. Advancing complex arguments relating to breach of contract and negligence. Successfully resolving the claim at mediation.
  • Acting for an automotive manufacturer in respect of a EUR1.7m, high-stakes cross-border supply chain dispute. Advancing breach of contract and product liability claims.
