Gianna DeLizza concentrates her practice on defending companies across the financial services, life sciences, and hospitality sectors in complex commercial litigation and global investigations. As a former Manhattan prosecutor, Gianna is uniquely situated to provide clients with both hands-on courtroom experience and insight into government investigations strategy.

Gianna handles high-stakes commercial disputes, including arbitrations, litigation, and government investigations. Gianna assists multinational corporations with global investigations related to a variety of issues, including criminal investigations, civil inquiries conducted by the US Department of Justice, US Securities and Exchange Commission, and other law enforcement agencies. She also assists clients in connection with alleged violations of US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), False Claims Act (FCA), and other regulations. In addition, she supports clients on the implementation and enhancement of anti-corruption and compliance programs, policies, and training.

  • A Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company involving allegations of bribery and violations of the FCPA
  • A multinational medical device company in connection with internal and DOJ investigation into alleged FCA violations, resulting in the government’s declination to intervene in the underlying Qui Tam action and voluntary dismissal of the Qui Tam complaint by the relator
  • A global life sciences company in connection with DOJ investigation
  • A multinational hospitality company in connection with an internal investigation regarding potential exposure under US and UK anti-bribery and anti-money laundering laws
  • A multinational telecom company in connection with an inquiry from the French authorities regarding alleged fraud
  • A financial institution in a multi-week arbitration related to a contract dispute

Prior Experience

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Gianna was an Assistant District Attorney with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office in the Trial Division where she handled both misdemeanor and felony matters and conducted hearings, bench trials, and jury trials in New York Supreme and Criminal Court.
