Justice through collaboration: Working with corporate clients at pro bono legal clinics
We work with clients to design and implement pro bono initiatives that expand access to justice, strengthen communities, support shared values, and foster long-term relationships. These collaborations allow us to serve more individuals and nonprofit organizations while creating meaningful opportunities for clients who may not have the internal infrastructure to engage in these efforts alone.
Alongside our clients, we have co-counseled on immigration matters, collaborated on legal clinics, conducted research, and co-sponsored Equal Justice Works Fellows.
- In New York, we have hosted clinics with Pfizer, assisting veterans in pursuing discharge upgrades.
- In Washington, DC, we have collaborated with the DC Bar Pro Bono Center, Corporate Pro Bono, and Verizon to host Clinic in a Box® Program sessions. During a recent clinic, our lawyers and Verizon attorneys met with a dozen nonprofit organizations to review and update their bylaws, helping them advance their missions.
- In Northern California, our lawyers collaborated with Microsoft on a virtual Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewal clinic, helping a dozen clients renew their applications.
- We have hosted virtual clinics alongside Honeywell and Houston Volunteer Lawyers. Our clinic volunteers have conducted intake for clients on civil legal matters, such as family law, housing, and benefits. We additionally support the organization’s veteran clinic at the Veterans Administration hospital.
