DLA Piper opens Brazil office in São Paulo

DLA Piper is pleased to announce the opening of its office in São Paulo, Brazil. The office acts as a foreign legal consultancy practice under US law to serve Brazilian and international companies with cross-border matters across the Americas and world.

The team in Brazil is multilingual and multicultural, representing clients on local and cross-border matters, including mergers and acquisitions, banking, project financing, capital markets, financings, compliance, antitrust, disputes, and other practice areas. Additionally, several of the firm’s US-based partners, including Amadeu Ribeiro, Marcello Hallake, and Bruno Soares (all New York), help guide clients on cross-border opportunities.

“Brazil is a rapidly changing and competitive marketplace, and we’re able to offer a first of its kind, full-service practice with interests and operations throughout the region,” said Rick Chesley, the firm’s global managing partner.

With more than 400 lawyers practicing throughout Argentina, Brazil (including through cooperation with Campos Mello Advogados), Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico, in addition to US-based cross-border attorneys, the firm’s approach to serving clients combines local knowledge with the resources of the DLA Piper global platform.
