John McDermott is an intellectual property litigator with experience before federal district courts and the International Trade Commission. John has represented clients in patent infringement cases involving a broad array of technologies including medical devices, imaging and diagnostic equipment, smartphones, microelectronics, artificial sweeteners, and pharmaceuticals. John also helps biotechnology clients resolve trade secret and royalty disputes that arise out of the drug development process.

John received a B.S. from Duke University, a master's degree in pharmaceutical engineering from the University of Washington, and a J.D. from Northwestern University. From 2023 to 2024, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Colm F. Connolly, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
