All four films serve as a corporate governance education and training tool for directors, legal departments and management at companies around the world.

At What Cost?

"At What Cost?" is a 45-minute fictional corporate drama created by DLA Piper. Featuring a fictitious company called EPTICOM, "At What Cost?" addresses the importance of directors and management reacting to indications of questionable or fraudulent conduct within the company.

The film is a corporate governance education and training tool for directors, legal departments and management at companies around the world. It is also eligible for 1.5 hours of ethics CLE credit in most states.

"This film gives our lawyers a tool to reach our clients about these issues in a way that no other law firm is doing," said Stasia Kelly, DLA Piper’s Senior Advisor to the Chair and Executive Director – Client Relations. "A film like this would have been valuable to me as a general counsel because it depicts realistic situations where executives need to make difficult decisions."

In 2014, “At What Cost?” received a Communicator Award of Distinction, a leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications. In 2013, the film was named a bronze winner of the 34th Annual Telly Awards, which recognize excellence in film and video production, online video content, and television commercials and programming.


In a Flash

In a Flash depicts a fictional corporation dealing with a number of real-world legal and regulatory issues, among them:

  • cyber-governance; cyber-risk management; security protocols; and incident response plans
  • the corresponding legal and regulatory environment faced by board members, general counsel and senior business executives
  • the delicate balance of managing internal investigations, reporting requirements and stakeholder interests

The film is a cybersecurity and corporate governance education and training tool for directors, legal departments and management at companies around the world.

Something to Report

Something to Report is a 45-minute fictional corporate drama created by DLA Piper to be used as a training tool for directors, legal departments and management at companies around the world. The film is about a fictional company, STANFERN Worldwide Auto, as it navigates an internal global investigation after an employee hears about an elaborate kickback scheme spanning multiple countries and involving a vendor and STANFERN’s procurement personnel.

The film covers a number of real issues that companies face, including whistleblower response protocols, compliance and internal audit failures, insufficient investigative resources and management of internal investigations.

Something to Report is DLA Piper's third feature film, joining the award-winning At What Cost? and In a Flash!  Each film is eligible for 1.5 hours of ethics CLE credit in most states.

After the Flood

After the Flood, the 4th installment of our Compliance Film series, is a 45-minute fictional corporate drama about a fictional company, Fernsby Builders, as it navigates multiple regulator investigations after the collapse of a hydroelectric dam the company constructed in Indonesia causes catastrophic impact to the local community.

The film covers a variety of real issues that companies may face, including crisis management, ineffective controls surrounding the use of AI, forced labor and supply chain concerns, bribery and corruption, and the impact of undertaking timely and effective compliance remediation.

DLA Piper created this film to be used as a training tool for directors, business leaders, legal departments, and compliance teams for companies around the world. The film is eligible for 1.5 hours of ethics CLE credit in most states.
