DLA Piper ranked once again among market leaders according to Rzeczpospolita’s 2022 ranking of law firms in Poland

On 21 June, the results of the 20th edition of the Rzeczpospolita Ranking of Law Firms were revealed.

We are pleased to announce that our law firm has been ranked among the top ten largest law firms in Poland. DLA Piper’s team in Poland currently consists of 122 lawyers, including 77 advocates and legal advisors.

DLA Piper in Poland was also awarded in the category "Transaction of the Year 2021". The awarded project concerned:

• advising Life Healthcare, a South African company on the sale of the Scanmed Group chain of medical facilities to the private equity fund Abris Capital Partners. The transaction was handled by Marta Frąckowiak, partner and head of the corporate and M&A team at DLA Piper in Poland. The law firm Greenberg Traurig Poland advised Abris Capital Partners. The value of the transaction was PLN340 million (EUR72 million).

Additionally, our law firm was ranked 3rd in the category "Law firms handling leading transactions in 2021". In addition to the sale of Scanmed, one of our restructuring projects was also highlighted:

• creation of a Polish support system for SMEs and large enterprises in connection with the COVID-19 virus pandemic. The contract between the Polish State Treasury and the Polish Development Fund S.A. (PFR) was the largest transaction in the history of the Polish economy in terms of value, amounting to PLN100 million (EUR21 million). The transaction team was led by Jakub Marcinkowski, partner and member of the corporate and M&A practice at DLA Piper in Poland.

We are also received an award in the category "Commitment to helping Ukrainian refugees in Poland", which was accepted on behalf of the law firm by Ukrainian lawyer Anna Kalinichenko.

The Law Firm Ranking organised by "Rzeczpospolita" is one of the most important events in the legal community. This year is special - it is the anniversary year for the ranking. It is worth noting that 20 years ago only 54 law firms took part in the ranking, while in 2022 there are a record number of 321.
