DLA Piper advises Bouwinvest on strategic investment in South Korean logistics market

DLA Piper has advised Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors (Bouwinvest) on its investment in the ESR Kendall Square Korea Logistics Core Strategy. Made through Bouwinvest’s Asia Pacific Mandate, the transaction marks a strategic step in diversifying its regional portfolio with high-quality logistics assets in South Korea.

Bouwinvest is a Dutch real estate investment firm specialising in Residential, Office, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Retail across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.

Investment sentiment towards South Korea's logistics market is increasingly positive as the sector continues to grow, driven by a robust e-commerce industry, which has created a high demand for efficient supply chains, automated warehousing, and advanced delivery technologies like drones.

The DLA Piper team was led by Tax partner Barbara Voskamp, with support from senior associate Victor Sanlorien Cobo, both based in Singapore.

Commenting on the transaction Barbara said: “This deal showcases the depth of our tax and legal capabilities across Asia and our ability to support institutional investors with complex cross-border transactions. We’re proud to assist Bouwinvest as it expands into South Korea’s dynamic logistics sector.”

This transaction builds on the DLA Piper team’s strong track record of advising institutional investors across the region and underscores the firm’s experience in navigating complex multijurisdictional real estate investments.
