DLA Piper advises Société Générale on the financing of the AMETYST concession

DLA Piper advised Société Générale, acting as arranger, lender, discounting assignee, agent and hedging bank, in connection with the financing of the concession entered into by Métropole Montpellier Méditerranée with Urbaser Group, representing a total investment amount of approximately EUR110 million.

The 15-year concession relates to the design and financing of the works, as well as the management, operation, maintenance and servicing of a household waste treatment and recovery facility, and on a subsidiary basis, the treatment of third-party biowaste, known as AMETYST, located in Montpellier.

Each of the two construction phases under the concession is financed through a construction facility and subsequently refinanced by way of a discounted assignment of the financial remuneration paid by the grantor, under a structure combining bank financing and receivables discounting.
