DLA Piper advises Clearway Group on acquisition of Secontec Group

DLA Piper has advised Clearway Group on the acquisition of Secontec Group, one of the leading companies in the field of remote video surveillance. Secontec Group consists of five companies, three of which are based in Germany, one in Austria and one in Switzerland.

With the acquisition of the Secontec Group, Clearway will complete the Group's market entry in Germany. The acquisition was completed at the end of December 2023. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the purchase price.

Clearway is a private-equity-financed security solutions provider, protecting people, property and assets across Europe. Its portfolio of security solutions includes fixed and temporary CCTV, technology towers, fire and intruder systems and life safety solutions.

The DLA Piper team was led by partner Dr Moritz von Hesberg and senior associate Rune Jelte Weltz (both Corporate/M&A, Hamburg). The core team also included associate Melanie Bierwirth (also Corporate/M&A, Hamburg).

A total of three countries were involved in the transaction, with the DLA Piper team in Austria and the Swiss law firm Bär & Karrer providing due diligence support.
