For more than 40 years, Scott has been at the forefront of the tax world. He is extremely well-versed in the intricacies of tax planning, audits, legislation and tax controversy and has handled a vast number of high-profile cases and issues representing domestic and multi-national companies throughout the world as well as prominent entertainers and personalities, ultra-high net worth individuals, and family offices.
Scott has been integrally involved with cutting-edge tax issues impacting state income & sales taxes, transfer taxes, communications and digital taxes, and in particular issues of personal residency, domicile, and income allocation, among others. He has been particularly well-known for his work in the telecommunications, technology, digital and internet tax arena where he served to help draft certain of the early white papers on the taxation of e-commerce and communications.
Scott has served as a board member, officer, or chair of numerous tax and legal organizations (COST, TEI, ACCA, USCA, etc.) Scott is both a Certified Public Accountant and Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. He has been a long-time member of the Executive Committees of the American Bar State Tax Section, the Connecticut Bar Tax Section, a member of the Bloomberg State Tax Advisory Board, an editor of several state bar journals, and an active member of the bar in Florida, Connecticut, and New York City.
