DLA Piper advises Australia's Ramsay Health Care on the acquisition of mental healthcare group Elysium for GBP775m

DLA Piper has advised global healthcare business Ramsay Health Care on the acquisition of Elysium Healthcare from private equity firm BC Partners for GBP775 million (AUD1.4bn).

The transaction provides Ramsay a unique opportunity to enter the growing UK mental health hospital market at scale with opportunities for organic and inorganic growth.

The DLA Piper team was led by Corporate partner Stephen Atkinson, who was assisted by senior associates Richard McGlasham and Mark Cliffe and associate Laura Allsop. Partner Andrew Clarke and senior associate Dean Peachey advised on Real Estate matters while partner Alexandra Kamerling advised on Regulatory matters. A wider DLA Piper team across the UK and Luxembourg also provided advise on the transaction.

The acquisition is expected to be finalised in early 2022.
