DLA Piper advises Helios Investment Partners on creation of unique digital infrastructure platform
DLA Piper has advised Helios Investment Partners, a leading Africa-focused private investment firm, on the acquisition of Maroc Datacentre (MDC), Munisys and Medasys, creating 3MDC, a new digital infrastructure platform. The acquisition in collaboration with Fipar-Holding, a subsidiary of private equity firm, CDG Invest, aims to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation and strengthen its position as a regional technology hub.
The 3MDC platform leverages MDC’s fast-growing carrier-neutral Tier-3 data centre together with Munisys’ longstanding capabilities in on-premises cloud, cybersecurity, systems integration and digital solutions. Medasys adds strong complementary technological capabilities and a deep understanding of the IT landscape in Morocco.
The financing of the transaction was provided by Saham Bank, under the leadership of Mehdi Houmam.
A multidisciplinary team from DLA Piper's Casablanca office worked on the transaction led by Corporate partner Camilia Benani on the acquisition and Benoit De Monval on the financing aspect of the transaction. The team also comprised of, of counsels Ghita Moussaid, Gaëlle Bouriau, senior associates Kenza Belrhiti Alaoui and Thomas Helman, and associate Julie Mbakop.
