Ishaan Madaan


Ishaan Madaan is a dual-qualified attorney focusing his practice on litigation and international arbitration.

He represents private corporations in connection with international arbitrations under leading institutional arbitration rules, including those of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and JAMS.

Ishaan also has a decade’s experience in dispute resolution spanning commercial arbitration, civil and corporate litigation, insolvency and restructuring practice in India. He has previously represented a number of clients in multi-million dollar commercial and construction arbitrations and has served as a court-appointed Arbitrator. He has also advised clients from the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

  • Represented UpHealth Holdings in  an ICC arbitration against its Indian subsidiary, seated in Chicago with Indian law applicable, where the tribunal awarded up to $110 million in damages against the subsidiary’s directors and certain shareholders.
  • Representing a BVI crypto-mining company in a USD 20+ million JAMS arbitration against a US entity, seated in Kentucky.
  • Represented Austrian and German entities in an ICC arbitration against US entities, seated in Massachusetts.
  • Represented a UAE construction company in a DIAC arbitration instituted by a sub-contractor in Dubai, UAE.
  • Represented a leading construction company in arbitration arising out the construction of a sovereign’s parliament building.
  • Represented a leading Indian construction company in arbitrations arising out of highway construction projects.
  • Represented a profession-governing statutory body in claims arising out of a Build-Operate-Transfer Agreement for a tech portal, and successfully defended against a multi-million-dollar counterclaim.
  • Assisted in an LCIA commercial arbitration relating to the construction of a tram system in the Middle East.
