DLA Piper advises Russian marketing automation platform Mindbox on USD13m investment round

DLA Piper has advised Mindbox, Russia’s leading marketing automation platform, on its USD13 million investment from private equity firm Baring Vostok. The company plans to use the funds to launch new products and develop existing ones, as well as for M&A. As a result of the transaction, Baring Vostok has become a minority shareholder of Mindbox, while Mindbox employees have been allocated a new option pool.

Founded in 2006, Mindbox is an integrated cloud-based marketing automation platform. With Mindbox, companies can set up impactful, non-intrusive and helpful customer communications – from SMS blasts and email newsletters to loyalty programmes and website personalisation. On average, clients who integrate the Mindbox platform benefit from a 10% increase in revenue. Mindbox’s clients include more than 500 companies in the retail, e-commerce, PropTech, EdTech and other sectors.

DLA Piper advised Mindbox and its founders on every stage of the investment deal. The firm’s Moscow-based Corporate team was led by partner and Global Co-Chair of Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Leo Batalov, assisted by senior associate Georgy Vinogradov and associate Vadim Iskhakov.
