Chris Field is a highly respected practitioner who has spent 25 years advising a range of global and international PE sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and investors on a broad range of domestic and international private equity and corporate matters, including acquisitions, disposals, equity investments, initial public offerings (IPOs) and other equity capital markets transactions, as well as take-privates and public M&A transactions.

Chris was co-head of the private equity practice at a top-tier US law firm for seven years before joining DLA Piper, having previously spent 11 years as a private equity partner in the London office of another top-tier US law firm.

EXPERIENCE

  • GIC on multiple transactions, including the GPB6.3 billion offer for WM Morrison Supermarkets PLC and the USD27 billion sale of Refinitiv to the London Stock Exchange.
  • Mid Europa Partners on multiple transactions including its acquisition of the pan-Baltic electronic marketplace, Pigu, and its acquisition and subsequent part-disposal of Mlinar bakeries.
  • Tetragon Financial Group on its acquisition of, and subsequent sale of a minority stake in, infrastructure fund Equitix.
  • Warwick Capital Partners on its acquisition of a majority stake in Danforth Care Homes.
  • Blackstone on the acquisition of The Co-operative Group’s general insurance business.
  • Cerberus Capital Management on its sale of Covis Pharma.
  • Further Global on its take-private of The Global Benefits Group.
  • Sun Capital Partners on multiple transactions, including its buy-and-build, and subsequent USD1.5 billion sale, of Albéa S.A.
