Cassian is a senior associate in the corporate group in Sydney and advises on a range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital and general corporate law advice. Cassian has significant experience advising private and public listed and multi-national companies on various high profile domestic and multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Cassian has extensive experience advising the energy retail, technology, software and agricultural industries involving corporate restructures, governance and capital raising deals.

  • Advising Valparaiso with respect to the sale to Blackstone of its student accommodation business in Brisbane, for a purchase price of AUD500m.
  • Advising an NYSE-listed investment manager on its AUD6bn takeover proposal to acquire the whole of an ASX and NZX-listed Australian iconic wealth and asset manager.
  • Advising an ASX and NZX-listed integrated services company with respect to its disposal of its South East Queensland traffic management and control business.
  • Advising an aerial technology company on its AUD1.05bn acquisition by an American private equity firm, via scheme of arrangement.
  • Advising a NASDAQ-listed special purpose acquisition company, on its USD360m de-SPAC transaction with an Australia-listed brand protection, supply chain integrity and blockchain technology company to take it public on the NASDAQ Stock Market.
  • Acting for a nickel ore production company in its USD471m (~AUD673m) equity raise, comprising a USD185m institutional placement to sophisticated and professional investors, a USD20m SPP Offer to eligible shareholders and USD286 million conditional placements to associated entities.
  • Advising an Australian public company and global online betting operator, on its de-SPAC business combination to go public on NASDAQ, valued at USD350m.
