September 12, 2022 update:
DLA Piper is proud to announce the firm’s Chief Operating Officer Bob Bratt and Chief Administrative Officer Joanne Chiedi have been honored with the Japanese American Citizens League Honolulu chapter’s 2022 Distinguished Service Award.

Watch our video commemorating the work of the historic Office of Redress Administration program.

DLA Piper’s Chief Operating Officer Bob Bratt and Chief Administrative Officer Joanne Chiedi are joined by community leader Bill Kaneko to discuss their work with the Department of Justice's Office of Redress Administration, a historic program that issued redress payments and a presidential apology to individuals of Japanese ancestry evacuated, relocated and interned during World War II. Bob, Joanne and Bill share their vantage point of what it was like to be a part of the program, Bill as a community leader who led the fight in Hawaii to seek redress, Bob as redress administrator, and Joanne as deputy administrator.
