DLA Piper advises Russian personal styling service Capsula on Series A investment round
DLA Piper has advised Capsula, a Russian personal styling service, on its Series A investment round. The funds are being raised from Russian private equity and venture capital fund ExpoCapital, angel investor Oleg Maslennikov, Carprice’s marketing director Dmitry Ryzhov and other investors. The new funds will be used to develop the IT platform, strengthen the team and scale up the service.
Founded in 2019 by Pavel Shibanov, Anastasia Shibanova and Igor Studennikov, Capsula sends out individually picked clothing and accessory items for a one-time styling fee. In July 2020, the company raised USD150,000 from several angel investors. Since then, the startup has experienced a 10-fold increase.
DLA Piper advised Capsula and its founders on every stage of the investment deal. The Moscow-based Corporate team was led by partner and Global Co-Chair of Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Leo Batalov, and assisted by legal director Andrei Sheetkin, associate Alexandra Braterskaya and paralegal Alexandra Khvorostyanova.
