Keith Ranta joins DLA Piper’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice in Washington, DC and Boston

DLA Piper announced today that Keith Ranta has joined the firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice as a partner based in the Washington, DC and Boston offices.

Ranta focuses his practice on executive compensation and employee benefit arrangements. He advises privately and publicly held companies at all stages of their corporate life cycles on the design and administration of equity and incentive compensation plans, employee stock purchase plans, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, employment and severance agreements, change in control plans and other compensation agreements.

He also counsels publicly held companies on disclosure of compensation arrangements in public filings and corporate governance matters related to executive compensation, and he advises companies and investors on compensation and benefit plan issues arising in connection with public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other corporate transactions.

“Keith’s sought-after skillset and more than 20 years of experience advising public and private clients on a myriad of compensation issues will make him a valuable, key member of our team,” said Rita Patel, chair of the firm’s US Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice. “His extensive experience, particularly in the area of public company, SEC-related executive compensation, and transactional matters will be highly beneficial to our clients.”

Ranta, who joins from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, is the latest addition to the firm’s growing Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice, which also recently welcomed Todd Castleton, an of counsel in the Washington, DC office.
