DLA Piper welcomes Patrick Hanraty to the firm's Corporate Practice

DLA Piper is pleased to announce the arrival of Patrick Hanraty in the firm’s Corporate Practice.

“As we anticipate a more robust M&A and IPO market in 2025, many privately held companies will need transaction preparation and execution services to enable them to capitalize on market windows and achieve their goals. To that end, we have added Patrick to lead our transactional advisory practice to supplement our legal services and provide clients with a full suite of transactional services,” said Andrew Gilbert, US Chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice. “Patrick complements our robust M&A, capital markets, and emerging growth practices and further enables us to advise clients on forward-facing trajectories that position them for success.”

Hanraty has more than 30 years of business, private equity, and investment banking experience, including most recently at ICR, a leading global strategic communications and advisory firm. His background also includes time with PNC in both its Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets businesses and at a middle-market private equity firm prior to that. In addition, Hanraty co-founded a commercial mortgage securitization firm alongside L. William Seidman, the former Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC).

Hanraty has guest-lectured at Yale University, The University of Pennsylvania, Villanova University, and other institutions of higher education; been published in numerous periodicals; and ghost-written Full Faith and Credit – The Great S&L Debacle and Other Washington Sagas.
