Gemma is a corporate lawyer with a broad range of expertise in domestic and multi-jurisdictional public and private M&A, equity capital market transactions, international corporate reorganisations and general company law and compliance matters.
Gemma works across a number of sectors including life sciences, technology and financial services.
Gemma also has experience of working in the ASEAN market having completed a six month secondment in DLA Piper’s Singapore office with our Corporate team.
Gemma is an avid supporter of DLA Piper’s social mobility agenda. Gemma works as a mentor for DLA Piper’s Head Start programme, which supports young people who have the talent and ambition to join the legal profession and who are from groups currently underrepresented in this sector.

Advised Benchmark Holdings plc, a market leading aquaculture genetics, specialist nutrition and health business, on the sale of its Genetics business to Starfish Bidco AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Novo Holdings A/S, and formal sales process under the Takeover Code. The total enterprise value of the deal was GBP260m, which represents a multiple of 17.9 x adjusted EBITDA.
Advised Benchmark Holdings plc on its proposal to return capital to shareholders, the cancellation of the admission to trading of its Ordinary Shares on the LSE's AIM market and Euronext Growth Oslo and subsequent registration as a private limited company.
Advised Equistone Partners Europe, a private equity investor, on its investment in QuestGates Ltd, the UK's largest independent provider of complex loss adjusting and claims solutions.
Advised Revolution Bars Group plc, a leading operator of premium bars and gastro pubs, on its successful fundraising and restructuring plan, with new shares admitted into trading on AIM, underpinned by GBP12.5m of new money.
Advised Kelly Services Inc., a leading global specialty talent solutions provider, on the sale of its European Staffing Business to Gi Group Holdings S.P.A., one of the largest staffing companies in Europe, in January 2024.
Advised ForFarmers, a leading supplier of feed materials to farmers and livestock producers, on its acquisition of Thunderbrook Equestrian, an equine feed and herbal supplement business, for an undisclosed sum in January 2024.
Advised Singer Capital Markets, as Nomad and broker to DP Poland plc, one of the leading operators of Domino's globally, on its 2.5x oversubscribed fundraise and strategic investment from Domino's Pizza Group plc.
Advised International Flavors and Fragrances, Inc. group on the sale of Flavors and Essences UK Limited, who manufacture and market vape flavourings and colourings, to Turpaz Industries Ltd for a sum of GBP22m in September 2024.
