DLA Piper advises IFU on MAD230 million investment in Morocco’s leading healthcare provider

DLA Piper has advised Denmark’s Investeringsfonden for Udviklingslande (IFU), an independent government-owned fund, on its MAD230 million investment in leading operator of a network of private specialized care facilities, Oncology and Diagnostics of Morocco (ODM).

The investment by IFU will allow ODM to continue its expansion and further diversify its services to support Morocco’s national health strategy. ODM specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various oncological conditions, providing several healthcare services like chemotherapy, radiotherapy, brachytherapy, surgery, and radiology.

IFU has invested in 1,336 companies in more than 100 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and parts of Europe. The fund focuses its investment on financially viable companies, contributing to economic and social development.

A team from DLA Piper’s Casablanca and Johannesburg offices worked on the transaction and was led by partners Camilia Benani (Corporate) and Nick Grootes (FPR). They were supported by senior associate Kenza Belrhiti Alaoui (Corporate), and Sandika Ramjanum (FPR).
