Preventing the dispute before it begins

Learn how to manage conflict and leverage dispute prevention mechanisms

Tuesday, June 3, 2025

DLA Piper and the CPR Institute hosted an informative program on commercial dispute prevention mechanisms. The program featured a fireside chat with in-house counsel and the authors of the ABA Business Law Section’s Preventing the Dispute Before it Begins: Proven Mechanisms for Fostering Better Business Relationships, including DLA Piper Of Counsel Allen Waxman.

Billions of dollars are invested annually in business-to-business relationships. Too often, those relationships end up in costly disputes involving legal fees, lost profits, diminished company value, and more.

This comprehensive guide aims to help practitioners understand and adopt proactive dispute prevention practices, outlining 18 dispute prevention mechanisms that can help control and eliminate contract disputes while fostering better business relationships.

Attendees were invited to a cocktail reception after the program.
