DLA Piper advises team.blue on the acquisition of Enartia
DLA Piper has advised team.blue on the acquisition of Enartia Group, a market leader in web hosting and domain registration in Greece with additional subsidiaries in Serbia and Albania. For team.blue, the transaction represents another strategic acquisition as part of its „buy and build“ strategy to expand its business in Southeast Europe and pursue its growth strategy.
Team.blue is a leading digital enabler for companies and entrepreneurs present in 15 countries. The group was created by merging Combell Group, TransIP Group and Register Group in 2019. Team.blue serves over two million customers in Europe and has more than 1,000 experts to support them.
Founded in 2004, Enartia is a group of brands specializing in digital services such as domain registration, web hosting, WordPress and other cloud services in Greece, Albania and Serbia. It serves the local markets through its brands Papaki and Top.Host, with currently about 97.000 customers and 365.000 active domain names, and is among the leading domain providers in Greece.
This transaction follows team.blue’s acquisition of SuperHosting, a Bulgarian market leader specializing in professional web hosting, as well as the acquisition of Webnode, a pan-European website builder operating predominantly in the CEE region. In the context of these transactions, the DLA Piper team led by partner Dr Nils Krause was also able to prove its M&A expertise in the software and IT sector.
The DLA Piper team was led by partner Dr Nils Krause, senior associate Dr Jasper von Georg and transaction lawyer Dan Li (all Corporate/M&A, Hamburg) and included partners Semin O (Antitrust), Dr Björn Enders and associates Anastasia Max (both Tax) and Alexander Rösch (Antitrust, all Frankfurt). The team was also supported by the law firms Potamitis Vekris in Greece, Bojanovic & Partners in Serbia and Tashko Pustina in Albania.
