DLA Piper advises Typhoon Digital Development on sale of Russia's software developer Brain4Net to Kaspersky
DLA Piper has advised Typhoon Digital Development, a major shareholder of Russian network solutions provider Brain4Net, on the sale of a majority stake to Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity and digital privacy company.
Established in 2015, Brain4Net has been developing solutions and services to help enterprises and service providers adapt modern technologies, such as Software-Defined Wide-Area Network and Network Functions Virtualisation, with existing network infrastructure.
By acquiring Brain4Net, Kaspersky aims to bring a completely new Secure Access Service Edge offering to the market as a unified platform, which will combine Kaspersky’s best-in-class security solutions and technologies with Brain4Net’s network orchestration and control capabilities and expertise. This acquisition will also allow Kaspersky to evolve its existing solutions into full-scale Extended Detection and Response.
DLA Piper advised the client on every stage of the exit deal. The Moscow-based Corporate team was led by partner and Global Co-Chair of Emerging Growth and Venture Capital, Leo Batalov, assisted by senior associate Georgy Vinogradov and associate Tatiana Askarova.
