Whitney Cloud joins DLA Piper’s Litigation practice in Philadelphia
DLA Piper announced today that Whitney Cloud has joined the firm’s Litigation practice as a partner in Philadelphia.
Cloud joins from the US Attorney's Office for the District of Delaware, where she has served since 2016, first as an Assistant United States Attorney and most recently as Chief of Appeals. In that role, she handled appellate court matters before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and mentored assistant US attorneys on potential appellate court issues arising before the district court.
“Whitney’s addition will greatly increase the capacity of our appellate practice, which is a key area of growth for the firm,” said Ilana Eisenstein, co-chair of DLA Piper’s Appellate Advocacy practice. “Her valuable and wide-ranging experience enhances the depth and breadth of our capabilities and will enable us to continue executing at a high level on complex appellate and legal briefing work for our clients.”
“Whitney’s ability to handle civil trial, white collar and appellate work across a variety of industries, including life sciences, healthcare, infrastructure and financial services, will be tremendously beneficial,” added James Brogan, US chair of the firm’s Litigation practice. “She has an excellent reputation as a litigator who can thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment, and we are thrilled to welcome her to DLA Piper.”
Cloud is not currently licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania. She is licensed to practice in New York and Washington, DC.
