DLA Piper’s Deborah Meshulam and Michael Fluhr co-edit ABA book on Cryptocurrency and Digital Asset Regulation
DLA Piper is proud to announce that Deborah Meshulam, one of the leaders of the firm’s Securities Enforcement practice, and Litigation of counsel Michael Fluhr have co-edited the book Cryptocurrency and Digital Asset Regulation: A Practical Guide for Multinational Counsel and Transactional Lawyers. Meshulam and Fluhr also co-authored the book’s introduction and chapters 2 ("Blockchain-Based Assets as Securities") and 8 ("Selected Issues in Litigation").
“Cryptocurrency and Digital Asset Regulation is one of the most comprehensive books in this space, touching upon federal taxation and anti-money laundering as well as sanctions compliance and litigation,” said Meshulam, who previously served as Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement.
Published by the American Bar Association, Cryptocurrency and Digital Asset Regulation provides an overview and industry guidance on some of the most common legal issues in the world of blockchain-based assets.
“Cryptocurrency and digital assets are dynamic and fast-changing, and this book will help exchanges, issuers, NFT platforms and creators, and related companies navigate the regulatory landscape,” said Fluhr, who focuses his practice on the financial sector, including the blockchain and digital asset space.
In a collaborative and team effort, DLA Piper’s Margo Tank, co-chair of the firm’s Financial Services sector, and Financial Regulatory & Tech associate Andrew Grant contributed another chapter, "Digital Assets as Payment and Money Transfer Systems."
