About

Paula is an associate in the Litigation and Regulatory department of DLA Piper Spain. Before joining the Firm, she was working for two years in the Public Law Department of a national firm. Paula has experience in matters of public law and regulated sectors, such as, among others, energy, environmental law, water, waste management and public concessions. Also, she has experience in ESG matters.

Her experience includes legal advice in regulatory matters and due diligences, as well as advice in administrative proceedings and contentious-administrative procedures.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising in the acquisition, selling and investment of many portfolios of photovoltaic and eolic projects.
  • Regulatory advice to foreign investors on the Spanish legal framework for repowering, storage, and hybridization of renewable energy facilities, as well as on regulatory queries regarding electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Advising national and global waste management companies in the transfer of its waste management installations and public contracts in Spain.
  • Delivering regulatory advise on the renewable origin of renewable fuel of non-biological origin for several projects.
  • Advising companies regarding matters that could trigger environmental responsibility.
  • Representing companies in public procurement appeals (special administrative remedies), as well as other administrative and contentious-administrative proceedings.
  • Advising a major ground handling company in connection with a public tender launched by AENA for the award of ground handling contracts at 43 Spanish airports, including related public procurement claims and judicial appeals.
  • Advising companies on interpreting and applying ESG regulations, including advisory on the CSRD Directive, ESRS standards, and non-financial reporting obligations.
