Stirling Wood practices corporate and securities law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, annual securities filings, commercial real estate and general corporate/commercial matters. His experience includes acting for public companies in M&A Transactions including share and asset purchases, reverse takeovers, amalgamations, financings, and plans of arrangement.
Stirling advises issuers and investors in relation to prospectus offerings, private placements, and corporate reorganizations. He also advises clients on corporate governance matters as well as securities law compliance and continuous disclosure matters. Stirling has extensive experience in real estate matters, including the purchase and sale of retail businesses, and the negotiation of commercial and industrial leases.
Before joining private practice, Stirling worked as legal counsel for Canada’s largest private liquor and cannabis retailer, assisting with a range of matters including commercial leasing, regulatory compliance, and employment, helping the company navigate the legalization of the retail sale of recreational cannabis across Canada in 2018.
